School Builder

CEDR Systems is a department of the San Joaquin County Office of Education and developers of EDJOIN, SEIS, PROMIS, AB1433/SCOHR, and several other state-wide systems. In 2002 CEDR Systems introduced a system called ICMS (Internet Content Management System) which provided school districts with a custom, professional, and affordable web presence.  ICMS provided online tools to manage all content, posted homework, manage calendars and event, post news and announcements…giving school district staff control over all their web content, without the intervention a webmaster.

SchoolBuilder is the next generation of ICMS, developed in July 2007.  Web technology and functionality has dramatically improved over the years and SchoolBuilder leverages to most recent advances, giving school district more robust and dynamic control over the web look and content.  Also added is SchoolBuilder Internal, a User Login/Intranet section for internal use by school and district staff.  SchoolBuilder Internal is the place where all the content is managed from, but is also used as in internal (password protected) resource for teachers, school staff, and/or district staff alike to view internal news, a calendar of events, access to internal documents and other resource materials or files, and communicate with other staff, etc.  SchoolBuilder essentially offers two integrated systems (the public web site with content management and internal user login/intranet) into one service, and all for only $500 setup/first year and $200 annually.

SchoolBuilder Web Site Content Management Offers:

  • A custom and professional web template and graphic design;
  • Ability to add/manage Pages, Links, and Content on the fly;
  • New Content Management Capabilities with Advanced Editing;
  • Post and Manage News and Announcments;
  • Teachers or other admin users can Post and Manage Homework Assignments;
  • Calendar of Events with many searching and filtering options;
  • Dynamic staff directory;
  • Ability to upload, manage, and archive Documents and other Resource Materials and Files to any page;
  • Ability to build and manage Photo Galleries and other Multimedia; and
  • Ability to create custom survey and/or registration forms for data collection.

SchoolBuilder User Login/Intranet Offers:

  • Different Levels of User Access (Teacher, School Staff, School Admin, District Staff, and District Admin) with the ability to set custom permission per user;
  • Provides Site Statistics on visitors and web site traffic;
  • Calendar and Events Management (both internal and public);
  • Document and File Management (both Internal and Public);
  • Staff Directory Management; and
  • Archives all pages.
